What Am I 05:19
What Am I What am I supposed to do What am I to do What am I supposed to do When it feels like win or lose Oh and you just don’t want to lose I step outside, button my shirt Stumble around and I can’t find my face, again The sky is heavy upon my head I sometimes wish I was back in outer space Cruising around in the dark abyss Thinking about the ones I’ve loved and the ones I've missed But that wouldn’t hurt half as bad as hanging here and drinking my thoughts away ‘Cause what’s haunting me, I can’t see And I’m not one to look too hard at what’s underneath Taking a stroll down Hunter street Trying to find a way to defeat my logic But every corner and every turn Is one more step I take towards the end When I arrive at my destination I hope they’ll all be waiting there for me Why do I have to wait for some old sunny day Why can’t I get myself underweigh What am I supposed to do What am I to do Oh mama, i don’t want to choose What am I supposed to do When it feels like win or lose Oh all you want to do is refuse But what's haunting me I can’t see But I'll accept it all deservingly After all is said and done And I wake up to catch the last of the setting sun maybe then I'd fall asleeep And realize that’s where I’m supposed to be But I’m trapped, trapped in my dreams, trapped in my bed I’m trapped in this life, I know I’ll be trapped when I’m dead It’s a matter of time before the ship pulls away It’ll never come back no matter what you pay So what am I supposed to do What am I to do Oh mama, I don’t wanna choose So what am I supposed to do When it feels like win or lose All you want to do is refuse

On The Docks 04:20
On The Docks It’s early morning before the sun Has climbed the smokestacks, the day’s come undone The air is heavy like a drunkard’s gaze A chilling passage on an empty page And I’ve forgotten just where I’m from And where I’ve been Or what I’ve done In the night, my dreams come to me But in the light, they cease to be For fifteen years, I been away from home For many more, I’ve been alone 'Cause I’m a drifter, moving along From town to town and song to song And here I am, keeping a night watch Aboard this great ship chained to the docks At night my dreams are the sea But in the light they cease to be Oh I want to be full steam ahead Down the coastline where I can breath again Then I’ll find a girl in a far off land I’ll build a home with my own two hands Yeah and we’ll make love beneathe the summer sky And I'll hold her close till the day I die At night my dreams they come to me But in the light they cease to be

Wherever I’m Going Lord, I know I’m a mess I have to confess Don’t what I’m doing Where’s my head gonna rest In the night it’s a guess Whose bed I’ll be choosing Wherever I go, whatever I’ve done Wherever I’m going, wherever I’m from However you know me, whoever I become Wherever I’m going, whatever I’ve done Everyday is a drag It’s gets you buzzed and relaxed Someday it’ll kill me And all my friends are composed They act like nobody knows How they’ve been dealing Wherever I go, whatever I’ve done Wherever I’m going, I’m always on the run However you know me, whoever I become Wherever I’m going, whatever I’ve done Oh my heart stumbles and skips The slow dance of your hips A little whiskey and wine You say ready or not I say I want what you got Let’s stop wasintg time Wherever I go, whatever I’ve done Wherever I’m going, wherever I’m from However you know me, whoever I become There’s nothing you owe me, ain’t that half the fun Whatever you think of me, whoever you think I am Wherever I’m going, wanna go there again However you know me, whatever I’ve done There’s nothing you owe me, ain’t that half the fun Yes it is

Make It Last 04:35
Make It Last You hear the rush of the freeway And the buzz of the power lines It’s late July, lightning creases the sky And the lillies they must be starting to bloom So Wyatt hands me a cold one And Dylan rolls us another joint Sitting on that porch in that muggy heat Laughing at the same jokes we’d tell all night You know you've gotta make it last You’ve gotta make it last It comes and goes, you better grab it fast To try and make it last, make it last We stay up to catch the sunrise Past that old worn down fence It’s like the world had a chance to reset And in the morning, we reinvent ourselves again So we say all our goodbyes But hang out for an hour or two It’s hard to leave when you’re shooting the breeze But in the daylight we got places to be You know you’ve gotta make it last You’ve gotta make it last It comes and goes, you better grab it fast To try and make it last, make it last

Movin' On 06:31
Moving On After midnight, I'll come over when the world is sleeping And after sunrise, I’ll go home with a burning reason to live You take my hand, we’ll be quiet And don’t mind the spiders on the wall You let me in but I've got a feeling I won’t be staying long at all ‘Cause you’ll be moving on, moving on You’ll be moving on, moving on I’ve been thinking about the days that came and went since you found me I don’t think I fell asleep but it sure feels like I've been dreaming this whole time I don’t want tonight to fade into the darkness of my memory But the way my head’s been spinning lately I dont think it’ll last too long ‘Cause I’ll be moving on, moving on I’ll be moving on, moving on

Is It Love 03:47
Is It Love Is it love when you can’t speak the words But you can’t say it any other way And is it love that keeps you up at night ‘Cause you can’t leave and so you stay And is it love you’re so afraid to show ‘Cause it might mean you’re really just a boy And boy you are twisted up the way you always get When you find out you’re in deep over your head And if you left it all, would you be surprised To find the emptiness would still remain But look inside, look anywhere What don’t you see is it love is it love Is it love when you haven’t seen her smile And it feels like it's just another day And is it love when she waits for you night When you can’t leave but you can’t stay And is it love that keeps you holding out ‘Cause you can’t bear to break her heart But this is love, a love so stained and frayed The only love I know This is love This is love This is love

What We Want 05:59
What We Want What we want is different than what we need It’s different than what we get Ain't nothing for free What I am is different than what I’m supposed to be It’s different than what they planned for me I guess I don’t mind, I guess I don’t mind I guess I don’t mind changing my name I guess I don’t mind playing the game What you say is different than what you mean It’s different than what you believe Lord knows that’s alright What I read is different than what you’re telling me It’s different than being deceived Sometimes you can’t tell, sometimes you can’t tell Sometimes you can’t tell, tell the truth Sometimes I can’t tell, tell the truth What I learn is different everyday It’s different when it’s all on display Some things you can’t hide What I use is different than what I abuse It’s different than what I stand to lose Don’t take it away Don’t throw it away…

Nowhere To Be I get up, I don’t remember my name I get dressed, all my clothes look the same I brush me teeth, I rinse and spit I brush my hair but it just won’t quit I stumble around, wait for the drip I play some gutiar, straight from the hip I’m all alone, no one for miles And I'm just a wreck in my usual style Pack my lunch, hop in my truck Shift into gear and I drop in the clutch Pull out of the drive and onto the street And I realize I got nowhere to be I don’t know if I’m coming or going I’ve had enough so I take off running Catch breath before I pass out And I throw up my arms and shouted Here I am, baby come and take By the hand while the sun is fading Pretty soon we can walk in the moon And step in tune to the radio playing Our favorite song “Lover, You Should’ve Come Over” Maybe I’m wrong, maybe we’re going nowhere I run back home and jump between the sheets ‘Cause after all, I’ve got nowhere to be Later on, when my eyes were tired I wrote a song because I wasn’t inspired To fill my heart with a burning desire I strummed my chords on a trusty Squier Broke a string, had to build a new guitar I had to fill the space inside Always asking, asking why, why, why, why So what, I don’t remember my name And my clothes, they all smell the same And my hair, it puts the dog to shame So what, at least I rememhher your name Remember your name...

about

Tyler Hamilton’s latest release, Movin’ On, is a culmination of songs written and recorded between 2019-2021 that highlight a period of change and uncertainty, bookended by personal events and shared by multitudes in the middle. This album is grounded in classic rock and burns with the intense melancholy that life and love can engulf us with at times. A guitar-driven album with moments of searing solos, wide open spaces, and honest vulnerability, Movin‘ On is part autobiographical, part fantasy, part longing, and part energetic release.

The album was recorded live at Blissman Studios with Tyler’s band and later mixed and produced in his newborn garage studio in his hometown of Seattle. Performing his songs in front of a band on stage is where Tyler Hamilton comes alive. You can witness this at his upcoming shows in and around Seattle, WA.
